Tehri Lake poses threat

Villages situated around the Tehri Lake in Uttarakhand are facing serious threat of erosion, as rising water level is resulting in erosion of massive chunks of land along its banks. The 46 kilometers long Tehri Lake, situated along the Tehri dam, has emerged as a big threat to the nearby villages of Rolakot, Nakot, Khola, Jalgaon, Sarot and Barsi, over the past few years.
