Former Minister of state for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor has denied any direct involvement in the Kochi IPL but has said that he wants the team to succeed. He said in Thiruvanthapuram on Monday his wife Sunanda Pushkar had given back the shares she had in the IPL franchise. The controversy surfaced when former suspended IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi revealed Tharoor had advised the IPL management against disclosing the name of Sunanda Pushkar, known to be close to Tharoor at that time.
