Top Maoist leader nabbed

The police arrested a top Maoist leader and a close aide of former extremist leader Kishenji, named Ranjan Tudu, from the rebel infested Jangalmahal region in West Bengal. Tudu, who was a trusted associate of Kishenji in Jhargram region and charged with murder and sedition in several cases, was nabbed during a combing operation. Meanwhile, in another incident, police arrested five Maoists, operating under the People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI), from Khunti district of Jharkhand. Inspector General of Ranchi zone, MS Bhatia, said that the arrested Maoists were involved in criminal activities.
