Tourism in Manali has witnessed a slowdown in recent days due to the cloudburst and flash floods in the Ladakh. Locals of Manali depend almost entirely on tourism revenue, particularly from activities such as trekking and river-rafting. Tourists facing plenty of difficulties in travelling from Manali to Leh, has affected business. Incessant rainfall has also put trekking on hold in various popular routes like Hamta Pass-Chandertal, and the Manali to Kangra route. Important roads like the Manali-Leh Highway have been closed ever since the massive flash floods hit Leh on August 6.
