Tourism in West Bengal hit due to Maoists menace

Rising Maoist activities in Bankura district of West Bengal has badly affected the tourism industry in the region.The recent incidences of violence in the region have deterred the tourists from arriving to various spots. However, a tourist complex owner said that there is no fear of Maoists; some mediapersons are propagating the issue. But whatever be the reason, due the prevailing fear of Maoists, several tourist attractions in West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia districts, now wear a deserted look which has adversely affected the livelihood of locals.
