Tribals bid adieu to their slain leader Kendruka Arjun

Hundreds of tribals and other villagers took part in the funeral procession and rituals of their slain leader Kendruka Arjun at Bandhugaoan in Koraput district of Orissa state on Wednesday. Reportedly, suspected Maoists shot dead Kendruka Arjun, a tribal activist of the Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh (CMAS), a forum of tribals at Bandhugaoan two days ago. Apart from activists of CMAS, members of the All India Khet Mazdoor Kisan Sabha (AIKMKS), who admired his righteous crusade, joined the funeral procession. Kendruka Arjun's killing has proven as a major setback for the movement instated by him but the members of his union feel that his sacrifice will not go waste.
