Tripartite talks on Gorkhaland end on cordial note

The West Bengal government and the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) on Saturday agreed to submit their point-wise observation within two weeks to the Centre's proposal on the Interim Authority for Darjeeling that pertains to both territorial jurisdiction and power. Subsequently, the matter will be discussed at the official-level meeting on August 17. This agreement was reached at the second round of the political-level tripartite talks, chaired by Union minister of state for home affairs Ajay Maken and attended among others by the Union Home Secretary GK Pillai, on Saturday.
