Indonesia descended into darkness with a rare total solar eclipse on Wednesday morning. People gazed at the sky in wonder as the moon started to pass directly in front of the sun at 4:49 am IST. The rare astronomical event occurred along a narrow path that stretches across 12 provinces encompassing three times zones. As a result, parts of Australia and east Asia were able to witness a partial eclipse.
