Water from Tehri inundates Koteshwar dam

After floods, Uttarakhand locals may now have to battle with power shortage, as 400 MW hydroelectric Koteshwar project, the second phase of Tehri Hydroelectric project in the state, has been inundated including its power houses, because of discharge of large quantities of floodwaters by the Tehri reservoir. Floodwaters have also damaged machinery and the dam infrastructure.
