Worst is over for food inflation; prices to stabilise soon: PM

Addressing the meeting of chief ministers over the issue of price rise, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today said the worst is over in food inflation and prices would stabilise soon. Singh also asked state governments to focus attention to developing market intervention mechanisms that can act as a supplement to the Public Distribution System. The meeting also reviewed the implementation of the essential commodities act to check hoarding of food items.
