Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed an ecstatic party cadre after the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance's victory in the Lok Sabha elections. The NDA successfully fended off the Opposition's challenge, with even high-profile politicians like Congress chief Rahul Gandhi losing his bastion Amethi. Addressing the party cadre, PM Modi called the result a victory of the people of the country who had voted for a 'new India'. He also promised to the nation that he would never take any decision with bad intent and would never work for himself but dedicate every moment of his life to the nation.
