‘Amethi abandoned’: Smriti’s charge as Rahul Gandhi files nomination from Wayanad
Updated on Apr 04, 2019 03:29 pm IST
On the day Congress President Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination from Wayanad in Kerala for the upcoming elections, his opponent in his current constituency Amethi, Smriti Irani, criticised him for 'abandoning' his electorate. Irani called Gandhi an 'absentee MP' and claimed that he climbed the political ladder and enjoyed power for 15 years while standing on Amethi's back, but was abandoning the constituency in the 2019 elections. Gandhi is contesting from 2 seats in the upcoming polls.
