Addressing an election rally in Assam's Golaghat, Congress President Rahul Gandhi accused the National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre of 'attacking' the North-East. Gandhi cited the Citizenship Amendment Bill to slam the NDA, and claimed that the Congress had ensured that the Bill was not passed in Parliament. The Congress chief also promised to reinstate the 'special status' for Assam, which he alleged that the Modi government had rescinded.
