A controversy has broken out after 2 defence veterans denied having given their consent for a letter addressed to the President, regarding alleged politicisation of the armed forces. Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman called the incident worrying and condemnable, citing the statements of Air Marshal NC Suri (retd) and General SF Rodrigues (retd). The letter had highlighted the issue of armed forces being raised by politicians during campaigning for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
