2 killed, 70 patients evacuated in Mumbai Covid-19 hospital fire

- Two Covid-19 patients died, 70 others rescued after fire broke out at a hospital in Mumbai. Fire broke out at Dreams Mall Sunrise Hospital in Bhandup area shortly after midnight. Police said the hospital is situated on the third floor of the five-storey mall building. Patients including those being treated for Covid were at hospital when fire broke out. Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar who visited the site expressed surprise that a hospital was operating inside the mall. The incident comes amid an upsurge in coronavirus cases in Maharashtra. Police added that the cause of the 'level four' fire has not been ascertained yet. Around 20 fire engines, 15 water tankers and ambulances were initially rushed to the spot. Patients were evacuated by the fire brigade and shifted to another hospital.
