‘Agnipath’ gets Corporate India's support; Tata Sons, Biocon back scheme

After Anand Mahindra, N Chandrasekaran, the Tata Sons Chairman, backed Modi government's Agnipath scheme amid protests. He said Agnipath will make available a very disciplined youth for the industry, including the Tata Group. Harsh Goenka, chairman of Rama Prasad Goenka Group, also spoke in support of Agnipath. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Executive Chairperson of Biocon Ltd, also lent her support to the scheme. Earlier, industrialist Anand Mahindra made an offer to employ 'Agniveers' in the Mahindra group.
