Ashwini Vaishnaw slams Derek O'Brien for calling bullet train a ‘vanity project’

A faceoff erupted between TMC MP Derek O'Brien and Rail Minister Ashwini in Rajya Sabha today after the former branded bullet train project in India as a 'vanity project'. Ashwini Vaishnaw objected to the remarks made by the TMC MP, saying they are shameful and defended the bullet train project undertaken by Modi government. Last week, a similar faceoff erupted after TMC MP Nusrat Jahan had attacked Modi government over the bullet train project and said that the Indian soil was not perfect for the bullet trains.
