Assam cops rough up a journalist for questioning them on helmets; FIR registered

Two police constables assaulted a journalist in Basugaon in Assam on Monday. The video went viral on social media. An FIR was registered against both the constables. In the video, the journalist, Jayant Debnath, was seen being thrashed by the cops. More police personnel were called and the journalist was forcefully made to sit in a jeep. Debnath was assaulted after he questioned the cops for not wearing helmets while they were riding bikes. Assam Police took cognizance of the incident and are investigating the matter.
