- A controversy has erupted after Kerala's Koodalmanikyam temple canceled Bharatanatyam performance of an artist on the grounds of being a non-Hindu. The artist, VP's Mansiya, was barred from performing at the temple's festival on April 21 over her religion. In a Facebook post, Mansiya revealed that temple office-bearers informed her that she can't perform as she is a non-Hindu. Meanwhile, the temple board in its clarification said that as per traditions, only Hindus are allowed to perform in the temple premises. Former Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja has come out in Mansiya's support and slammed the Temple board for the move. Watch the video for more.
