Centre's one time Agnipath waiver amid protests; Age limit raised from 21 to 23

Published on Jun 17, 2022 10:19 am IST

Centre increased the upper-age limit to 23 years from 21 years for recruitment under 'Agnipath' for the year 2022. The move came on a day when widespread protests erupted against the new model for enrolment of soldiers. The government had said the entry age for all new recruits will have to be between 17 and a half and 21 years. The age relaxation move is however 'one-time waiver' as no recruitment could take place in the last two years. Protests, arson and vandalism were witnessed on Thursday as Army aspirants hit streets in many states against Agnipath. Watch the full video for more.
