Cheetahs make India home after 7 decades; PM Modi releases big cats on birthday

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi released eight Namibian Cheetahs at Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park on the occasion of his birthday. PM called the arrival of the big cats 'historic'. 5 of the 8 cheetahs are female and 3 are males. They were brought in a special cargo aircraft that landed at Gwalior airport this morning. They were then transported to the Kuno National Park in 3 IAF choppers. India declared Cheetah extinct in 1952. Watch this video to know more.
