Cheetahs to make India their home again; Modi govt inks pact with Namibia

70 years after going extinct in India, the world's fastest land animal, Cheetah, is set to make a comeback in Indian forests. India and Namibia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to reintroduce cheetahs in the country after nearly seven decades. The Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh is likely to receive the first batch of the animal by August 15. Namibia has the world's largest population of cheetahs. According to the pact, the two countries will share and exchange expertise and capacities to promote cheetah conservation in their ranges. Watch this video for more information.
