Controversy over ex-SC judge Arun Mishra heading NHRC: Modi govt vs Opposition

• The opposition lashed out at the Modi government over the appointment of former Supreme Court judge Justice Arun Mishra as the chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission. Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge wrote to the Prime Minister and registered his objection at the selection. Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra questioned if Former CJI Ranjan Gogoi would be the next chief of National Commission for women.
