Delhi puts onus of possible 'Blackout' on Modi govt; Centre claims supply replenished

Amid concerns over a possible coal shortage in the country, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said that the centre has asked states to increase their stock of coal and there won’t be any shortage. The minister however admitted to a shortage of coal due to rainfall that led to a halt in electricity production for 15-20 days. Meanwhile, Delhi’s Power Minister Satyendra Jain put the onus of electricity shortage in the capital on the central government. Jain said that the central government which is Delhi’s main supplier of electricity has slashed its production to half at all its plants at once leading to a shortage in the capital.
