- Senior Assam minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the law asking to disclose religion will be in BJP manifesto. This comes in the backdrop of some states announcing laws on ‘love-jihad’. Sarma said, “We have many agenda. In this manifesto, we are going to promise a comprehensive bill on disclosure of confidentiality clause while engaging in a marriage ceremony. I have to first disclose my identity, my religion, my income and everything before I enter into a marriage with any girl. We are coming against the concept called ‘land jihad’. Now, many of our lands in lower Assam and middle Assam are being grabbed by certain elements including our monastery.” Watch the full video for more.
