'Dismantle terrorist safe havens to ensure peace in Afghanistan': EAM Jaishankar

- External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar called for a permanent ceasefire to ensure reduction in violence in Afghanistan. The EAM said terrorist safe havens must be dismantled immediately for enduring peace. He also stressed on development partnership with Afghanistan to make it self-sustaining. Jaishankar was speaking at the UNSC Debate on the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan. “Terrorist safe havens must be dismantled immediately for enduring peace in Afghanistan. There needs to be zero tolerance to terrorism in all forms including cross-border ones. Territory of Afghanistan shouldn't be used by terror groups to attack another country. Those providing materials, financial support to terrorists must be held accountable. We must ensure that our commitments to Afghanistan are maintained,” he said.
