The two-day G20 finance ministers meeting in Bengaluru ended without issuing a joint statement. The members of the G20 failed to agree on a joint communiqué after Russia and China opposed the inclusion of text condemning the Ukraine war. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the draft communique included two paragraphs on the Ukraine crisis taken from the leaders’ declaration or joint statement issued at the last G20 summit in Indonesia, but China and Russia had reservations about this.
