- Around 300 Afghan refugees protested outside the UNHCR office in New Delhi demanding refugee rights in India. The refugees said that despite spending more than 10 years in India they have no right to work in the country. Some refugees were also worried about their kin back in Afghanistan in light of Taliban’s takeover of the country. India is not a signatory to the 1951 UN Refugee Convention that defines laws for refugees and their rights in the country of refuge. Watch the full video for more details.
