India questions estimate model as W.H.O claims 4.7m excess Covid deaths

India hits back at the World Health Organisation after it claimed 4.7 million Covid deaths in India. India strongly protested after WHO released the data despite objection to the methodology & outcome of such exercise. WHO estimated 4.7 million ‘excess mortality’ in India between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021. India’s official Covid death toll till the first week of May 2022 stands at 522,676.
