Modi govt's fresh Atmanirbhar push in defence sector; Clears purchase of 15 LCH

PM Modi-led cabinet committee on security approved the purchase of 15 Made-In-India choppers. The government cleared the procurement of 15 light combat helicopters at a cost of 3,887 crore. The defence ministry said ten helicopters will be for the Air Force & five will be for the Army. The government-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd produces the LCH helicopter. Reports say LCH has around 45 per cent indigenous content by value. The decision to procure helicopters came in a bid to enhance the combat abilities of all services. Watch the full video for more.
