Published on Mar 26, 2021 02:16 pm IST

  • Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri spoke on passengers violating Covid-19 guidelines amid a surge in cases. He said that the airport authorities have been directed to put passengers on the 'no-fly' list. “We can win the fight against Covid but negligence of some people is creating problems. Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been instructed to crack the whip. We can issue guidelines in regard to Covid-19 but some people are being careless. We have now started putting violators on the no-fly list. Air travel is much safer than travelling via surface route by buses or train,” he said. India saw a jump of 59,118 in Covid tally on Friday, taking nationwide count to 11,846,652. Daily toll also continued to rise and remained over 200, taking total fatalities to 160,949.
