- Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a webinar for the effective implementation of the provisions of the Union Budget in the health sector. He said that the allocation in the budget to the health sector shows the government’s priority and lauded the efforts of the medical fraternity for their work during the pandemic. ‘Covid-19 has taught us that we need to be prepared for future diseases too. So it is important to strengthen all aspects of the health sector — from medical equipment to medicine, from ventilators to vaccine, from doctors to epidemiologists,’ PM Modi said. He also said that the lessons learnt during the Covid crisis would help India in becoming TB free by 2025.
