- Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over the Arjun Main Battle Tank (MK-1A) to Army Chief General MM Naravane in Tamil Nadu’s Chennai. PM Modi also accepted a salute by the state- of-the-art tank, indigenously designed, developed and manufactured by DRDO's Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment. PM Modi said, “One of the two defence corridors is located in Tamil Nadu. It has already received an investment commitment of over ₹8,100 crores. Today, I am proud to dedicate to the nation one more warrior to protect our frontiers. I am proud to hand over the indigenously designed and manufactured Arjun Main Battle Tank (MK-1A).” PM Modi also paid homage to CRPF personnel killed in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack and said the country is proud of its security forces. “No Indian can forget this day.
