‘Protesters couldn’t show flaws in farm laws’: Narendra Tomar in Rajya Sabha

• Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar presented a staunch defence of the three farm laws which have led to protests by farmers. Tomar said that none of the farmer unions or opposition party leaders have been able to point out any flaws in the laws. He further added that just because the government is willing to make amendments in the laws does not mean there are any shortcomings in the legislations. ‘The agitation should have been against the tax levied (by state government) on sale made in mandis but strangely the protests are against freeing of the system from such taxes,’ Tomar said. The Union Minister also said that the protests were only limited to farmers from one state that have been misled about the provisions of the laws. Watch the full video for all the details.
