'Rape, murder, arson': Mamata must step in to stop post-poll violence in Bengal

Even as the Trinamool Congress swept the West Bengal Assembly elections, reports of political violence started trickling in. Opposition parties like the Bharatiya Janata Party and Left have alleged arson, murders, and rapes by workers of the TMC. While Mamata Banerjee has accused opponents of spreading fake news, Bengal's Governor and the Central government have sought reports. The alleged violence threatens to sideline the fight against Covid-19, which has already suffered due to political rallies and roadshows.
