- At least 11 people have died after consuming suspected spurious liquor in Madhya Pradesh's Morena. Police said eight others have fallen ill and were referred to Gwalior for treatment. As per the preliminary reports, some villagers consumed a white coloured liquor. Police added that the autopsy reports will ascertain if the liquor was poisonous or not. State Home Minister Narottam Mishra said a police official has been suspended following the incident. "The incident of deaths caused by drinking poisonous liquor in morena is very sad. The in-charge of the police station concerned has been suspended. A separate team is also being sent to conduct the investigation. People who are responsible for the incident will not be spared," Mishra said.
