Third Assam madrasa razed over Al-Qaeda ‘links'; CM says, 'Hub of terror…'

- Crackdown against illegal madrasas in Assam by Himanta Biswa Sarma government continues. Another private Islamic seminary has been demolished by the government authorities. The madrasa in Bongaigaon has been demolished over alleged links to terror outfits Al-Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) & Bangladesh-based Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT). This was the third private madrasa to be razed this month for alleged jihadi links. Speaking over the big crackdown, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that he doesn't want to generalise, but whoever has been arrested till date have had some connection with madrasas or were acting as preachers in some mosques.
