- Ghaziabad Police sent legal notice to Twitter India head over video provoking 'communal unrest’. Manish Maheshwari has been asked to visit Loni Border police station & record statement within seven days. The notice was sent in connection of a video involving assault of an elderly Muslim man in Ghaziabad’s Loni. UP cops have accused Twitter India of allowing the controversial video to go viral. “Some people used their Twitter handle as a tool to spread hatred in the society. Twitter Communication India & Twitter Inc did not take any action against it. They let the anti-social messages go viral,” the notice said. The notice comes days after Twitter has lost its status as an intermediary platform in India. It lost legal protection from prosecution over non-compliance with govt's new IT rules.
