UPSC topper Shubham Kumar reveals first reaction to result | Watch

- Shubham Kumar from Bihar's Katihar has topped the civil services examination, 2020. Kumar has said his dream to become an IAS officer & serve underprivileged has been realised. PM Modi congratulated all UPSC aspirants who cleared the civil service examination. The PM said they will occupy key administrative roles during a crucial period in India's journey. 24-year-old Shubham Kumar has topped the civil services examination in his third attempt. Kumar got selected in Indian Defence Accounts Service after qualifying civil services exam 2019. The 24-year-old could not make it in his first attempt in the 2018 civil services examination. Shubham Kumar is a Bachelor of Technology (civil engineering) graduate from IIT Bombay. Kumar is currently undergoing training at National Academy of Defence Financial Management, Pune. UPSC declared the final result of the Civil Services Examination, 2020 on Friday. A total of 761 candidates - 545 men and 216 women - have been recommended for appointment.
