Uttarakhand: IAF uses Super Hercules, ITBP's night operation after glacier burst

- Indian armed forces assisted in rescue and relief operations in Uttarakhand after glacier burst. A glacier burst in chamoli led to flash floods and severe damage. The Indian Air Force helped transport NDRF teams and relief materials. IAF's c-130J Super Hercules reportedly landed in Dehradun on February 7. Two AN-32 planes also carried marine commandos and relief materials. ITBP said rescue work was carried out throughout the night. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said the cause of mishap is not known yet. He also said the state has all the necessary machineries available for rescuing of people.
