India’s Indigenous Aircraft Carrier Vikrant successfully completed its maiden sea voyage. The trials progressed as planned and system parameters proved satisfactory. Vice Admiral AK Chawla met the staff of the new aircraft carrier after completion of the voyage. “It is indeed a historic moment for India. We are going back to Kochi after five days of trials at sea," said Chawla. IAC Vikrant began its maiden sea voyage from Kerala’s Kochi on August 4. The carrier would undergo more sea trials before induction into the navy. Vikrant is the largest warship built in India and the country's first indigenous aircraft carrier.
