Women to be inducted into NDA: How Indian Army’s move will bring landmark change

- The central government on Wednesday informed the Supreme Court that women will now be admitted to the National Defence Academy (NDA). According to Centre’s statement in the SC, the decision has been taken by the Indian Armed Forces themselves. The move will now allow women to be permanently commissioned in the Army. Presently, women are considered for permanent commission at later stages in their career whereas men recruited through the NDA exam are given a permanent commission.
