Republican Latino lawmakers from Florida praised U.S. President Donald Trump after American forces captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in a dramatic overnight operation. Representatives said the action marked an end to years of tolerance toward drug trafficking and instability they link to Venezuela. U.S. Special Forces seized Maduro near a safe house as parts of Caracas lost electricity, later transporting him and his wife to a U.S. Navy ship and then to the United States. Speaking from Mar-a-Lago, Trump said the U.S. would oversee Venezuela temporarily to ensure a safe and orderly transition of power.
