PM Modi bats for India at UNGA, promises help in fight against Covid

<p>PM Modi in his virtual address to the United Nations General Assembly, called for “reforms” as he questioned what has the international body done for the world as it has been struggling to fight Covid-19. He asked, “How long will India be kept away from UN's decision-making body?”. He further assured the world community of India's support in fighting the war against Covid-19. As a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, PM said, India will raise its voice against enemies of humanity - terrorism, illegal arms smuggling, drugs, money laundering.</p>

Vodafone wins ₹22,000 cr tax dispute against India: Wrap with Vikram Chandra

‘Try Pakistan for war crimes in Gilgit-Baltistan’: Activist’s appeal to UN

<p>PoK activist Amjad Ayub Mirza has demanded that Pakistan be tried for war crimes in Gilgit-Baltistan. He said that history is proof that Pakistan has committed many crimes in PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan and urged the Indian government to take up the issue at the United Nations. Mirza also said that Pakistan has also committed crimes against humanity in PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan. He added that the Pakistan Army's brutalities in Balochistan also qualify as war crimes. Mirza said that Pakistan's move to declare Gilgit-Baltistan its fifth province is directly connected to the China-Pakistan economic corridor. Mirza said that Pakistan is trying to hold election and get a legislature elected which would then pass a resolution declaring Gilgit-Baltistan as a province of Pakistan. He added that locals have not even been consulted about the CPEC and said that China wants the region to be fully under Chinese control via Pakistan. Watch: Why Special Frontier Force deployment at LAC rattled China

<p>China continues to provoke India at the LAC in Ladakh. In the latest, the Chinese troops engaged in provocative action along the Rechin La region, south of Pangong Tso Lake. China then blamed India forces and alleged that Indian troops had crossed the LAC and fired warning shots on Chinese border patrol soldiers who were about to negotiate. The Indian Army though countered the Chinese and said that Indian forces had not crossed the LAC and added that the PLA has been blatantly violating agreements and carrying out aggressive acts.
