At a White House dinner, President Trump joked about missing out on the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, saying, “I stopped eight wars in eight months — did I get a Nobel Prize? No!” The president laughed that “maybe next year will be better,” before adding that what really matters to him is “saving hundreds of millions of lives.” The comments came days after Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado was named the Nobel Peace Prize laureate for revitalizing her nation’s pro-democracy movement.
