Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed a ceasefire between Syria’s transitional government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), voicing support for a united and independent Syria and insisting armed groups in the north must disarm. Speaking in Ankara, Erdogan said Syrian Kurds had suffered grave injustices under the previous regime and deserved full rights. He also revealed talks with U.S. President Donald Trump on Syria and ISIS.
