Americans queued up at poll booths on November 3 to choose their 46th President. Voters were seen wearing face masks and shields, and practicing social distancing amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Election officials took precautions like sanitisation of booths after casting of each vote. Around 10 crore Americans have already voted via early voting options, while around 6 crore are expected to exercise their franchise on November 3. First Lady Melania Trump cast her vote in Palm Beach, Florida. Incumbent President Donald Trump had voted on October 24. Meanwhile, his opponent Joe Biden visited his hometown, Scranton, in Pennsylvania. He addressed his supporters saying that there was a need to restore the 'backbone' of the country.
