Dramatic rescue: Georgia beachgoers save dozens of pilot whales

A pod of pilot whales washed up on a beach in St. Simons Island, Georgia on 16 July. Beachgoers and wildlife officials teamed up to save them. The video shows dozens of whales swimming in the shallow waters close to the beach. Rescuers pushed and shoved the distressed marine mammals back to the sea. Three of the whales died while the rest made it safely back into the sea.
