US President Donald Trump defended his decision to pull out of the Paris climate agreement calling it unfair and one-sided. 'To protect American workers, I withdrew the United States from the unfair and one-sided Paris climate accord, a very unfair act for the United States. The Paris accord was not designed to save the environment. It was designed to kill the American economy,' Trump said at the G20 summit. He said that continuing with the Paris accord would have meant surrendering millions of American jobs and sending trillions of American dollars to the world's worst polluters and environmental offenders. 'Since withdrawing from the Paris accord, the United States has reduced carbon emissions more than any nation anywhere in the world. Our air is seven percent cleaner than when I took office. At the same time, we've made America energy independent,' Trump added. Trump had announced that US would be withdrawing from the Paris accord during the first year of his Presidency. However, President elect Joe Biden has said that he will reenter the pact after he takes over. Watch the full video for all the details.
