Updated on Feb 10, 2017 05:57 pm IST
Giant ice floes travel down the Tisza river in Ukraine following early spring, the sight captured by an eyewitness. The sudden rise in temperature in western Ukraine triggered the mass of shelf ice on the river to break. Western Ukraine experienced the coldest weather for the past 10 years this season, with temperatures dropping to minus 20 degree Celsius. The sudden rise in temperature to 5 degree Celsius broke up the ice. The last time a similar phenomenon took place was 30 years ago.
